Products is your store catalog. Each product has its own page on your website, with its price, photos and an add-to-cart button.
How to get there
Open Storefront3000 and click Products in the menu.
The product list
- Search with Search Products, and use the status menu to show All, Available or Not Available products.
- The add menu has Create a New Product, Upload Products (import from a spreadsheet) and Download Products (export your catalog to a spreadsheet).
- Tick products, choose Delete Selected or Post To Facebook under Actions, and click Go.
Add a product
- Click Create a New Product.
- On the Main tab, enter the Title, Sku Code, Status and Price, and write the description. Click Save.
- Work through the other tabs you need, clicking Save on each one.
The product tabs
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Main | Title, SKU, status, price and description. |
| Variants | Sell one product in several sizes, colours or other choices. Tick the choices, click Generate grid to get one variant per combination, and give each its own SKU, price and stock (a blank price uses the product's price). Set up the choices first under Product attributes. |
| Categories | Tick the categories the product appears in. |
| Media & Literature | The Large Image and Small Image. |
| Stock & Pricing | Stock Quantity (with the quantity still available), a one-time Setup Fee that isn't multiplied by quantity, Brand, the GTIN, MPN and Condition used by Google, and sale pricing (see below). |
| Volume Price | Price breaks for larger quantities (see the tip below). |
| SEO Setting | The page title and description search engines show. |
| Custom Fields | Extra details (specs, sizes, anything your site shows) that don't have their own field. |
| Shipping Fees | A flat shipping fee just for this product, by country, province or city. Click Add Shipping Fees. |
| Downloadable Files | Files the buyer downloads after paying, such as an e-book or a PDF. Upload the file (up to 25 MB), or link one hosted elsewhere. The order email gives the buyer a private download link, which works once the order is Paid. |
| Embed | Code to show this product on another page or website. |
| Social Media | Post the product to your connected social accounts now, or schedule it. |
| Google Merchant | Send the product to Google Shopping (see below). |
Product statuses
Only Available products can be added to the cart. Sold Out products still show on your website, marked sold out. Use Not Available, Discontinued or Sold Out to take a product off sale without deleting it. The Sold Out tile on the dashboard counts products marked Sold Out.
Put a product on sale
- Open the Stock & Pricing tab and tick On Sale.
- Enter the amount and choose % Off, $ Off or $ Fixed (a set sale price).
- Optionally set Sale starts on and Ends on. Leave them blank to start now and never end.
- Click Save.
Send products to Google
Connect your Google Merchant Center account under Settings → API Connections → Google Merchant Center. Then, on a product's Google Merchant tab, you can send it to Google, see its review status (Pending review, Approved, Approved with limits or Disapproved) and any issues Google reports, update it, or remove it. If something stops a product being sent, such as a missing detail, the tab lists what to fix. Changed products are also sent again by a nightly sync.
Import from a spreadsheet
- Choose Upload Products from the add menu.
- Choose your spreadsheet file and click Upload.
- On the Upload Mapping page, match your spreadsheet columns to the product fields and finish the import.
Tip: use Download Products first to get a spreadsheet in the right layout.
Tips
- Stock isn't reduced when an order comes in. The available quantity is your stock minus the quantities on orders marked Paid or Fullfilled, and on new unpaid orders for a short hold (30 minutes unless you change Inventory in the store settings), so keep order statuses up to date.
- A volume price break includes both ends of its range: a 10 to 49 break applies to 10 items and to 49 items.
- Products only show in a category once you tick it on the Categories tab. See Categories.
