Quizzes live inside Online Learning. You keep a question bank for each program, attach a quiz to a lesson, and can require a pass before the next lesson unlocks. Practice exams draw random questions for exam prep.
Question bank
- Open a saved program and select Question bank.
- Add categories if you want to group questions.
- Add questions: multiple choice (one or many correct answers), true or false, short answer (matching ignores letter case), or numeric (a correct value and an optional plus or minus tolerance).
- Add an explanation to show students after they submit, when review is enabled.
- Use Import Moodle XML to bring questions from a Moodle question-bank export (multiple choice, true or false, short answer and numerical). Other Moodle question types are skipped.
Quiz lesson
- On the Content tab, add a lesson with type Quiz.
- Set an optional pass mark (percent), maximum attempts, whether to keep the best or latest score, a time limit, whether to shuffle options, and whether students can review after they submit.
- Turn on Must pass to unlock the next lesson when students should not continue until they pass.
- Select questions from the bank and save.
Students open the quiz in My learning, start an attempt, and submit before the timer ends. Their score is stored and shown in the course outline. A passing attempt can mark the quiz lesson complete. A must-pass gate applies to every lesson after that quiz until the student passes.
Practice exams
On the Question bank tab, add a practice exam: choose a category, how many random questions to draw, and an optional time limit, pass mark and number of attempts. Learners see practice exams under the course in My learning, separate from the lesson list.
