Course attributes are your own details about programs, such as Skill Level, Delivery Method or Course Length. Visitors can filter your course catalog by them, and they can be shown on program pages. This article covers the attribute list and bulk uploads. For the setup fields and number ranges, see Course attributes (custom filters).
How to get there
Open Educatify → Catalog Setup → Course Attributes.
The attribute list
Each row shows the attribute's code, label, type (Number or Text), unit, status (Active or Inactive), order, and how many programs have a value. Use search by code or label to find one. The Actions menu on each row has Edit, Upload Attributes and Deactivate.
Add an attribute
- Click Add an Attribute.
- Enter the label, choose Number or Text, and set where it should show. The code and type cannot be changed after the first save.
- For a Number attribute, add the ranges visitors will pick from, for example "1 to 5 hours".
Fill in values
- One program at a time: open the program in Programs and use its Attributes tab.
- Many programs at once: use Upload Attributes (below).
Upload values from a spreadsheet
- In a spreadsheet, make two columns: the program code and the value. A header row is optional.
- Save it as a CSV file.
- On the attribute's row, open Actions → Upload Attributes, choose the file and upload.
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Number attributes | Values must be numbers, such as 42 or 3.5. |
| Text attributes | Free text, up to 500 characters. |
| Clearing a value | Leave the value blank to remove that program's existing value. |
| Inactive attributes | Reactivate the attribute before uploading. |
Rows that cannot be used, such as an unknown program code or a value that is not a number, are listed after the upload so you can fix them. This is why each program needs a unique code.
Order and deactivate
- Change the Order numbers and click Save Sorting to set the order filters appear in. Lower numbers come first.
- Deactivate hides an attribute from your website but keeps every value already entered. Turn it back on in Edit to restore it. Tick several rows and use Deactivate Selected to do many at once.
