Categories organize your programs on your website, for example by subject, age group or level. A category can have subcategories, and a program can belong to more than one category.
How to get there
Open Educatify → Catalog Setup → Categories.
The category list
Each row shows the category's ID, title, Order, number of Programs and Parent Category. Use search by category title to find one.
Create or edit a category
- Click Add a Category, or the edit icon on a row.
- On Title & Details, fill in:
- Title: the name visitors see.
- Feature Image: the picture shown with the category.
- Friendly Link: the web address of the category page. Use the button beside it to view the page.
- Parent Category: leave it on Main Category for a top-level category, or pick a parent to make it a subcategory.
- Description: text shown on the category page.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the category also has an SEO Meta Tags tab for the title and description search engines show, and an Embed tab with code to show the category's programs on any web page (see Embeds). The Social Media tab is not working reliably at the moment.
Put programs in a category
Open the program in Programs, go to its Categories tab, tick the categories and click Save.
Set the display order
- Categories: change the numbers in the Order column (lower numbers come first), then click Save Sorting in the bar at the bottom.
- Programs inside a category: click the programs count on the category's row. On that page, change the order numbers and click Save Sorting. The delete icon there removes a program from the category; it does not delete the program.
Delete categories
Use the delete icon on a row, or tick several rows and click Delete Selected. Move any subcategories to another parent first.
