With Online Learning enabled, each program has a Content tab. Content is organized into modules (for example Week 1 or Introduction), and each module holds lessons.
Add modules and lessons
- Select Add module, give it a title and an optional short description, then save.
- Under the module, select Add lesson, enter a title and choose the lesson type.
- Drag a module or a lesson by its handle to change the order. You can drag a lesson into a different module. The new order is saved right away.
Lesson types
- Text: write the lesson in the editor. You can add headings, lists, images and links.
- Video: paste a YouTube or Vimeo link. Other video sites are not accepted; use Link or embed for those.
- Files: save the lesson first, then upload handouts (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, audio or ZIP, up to 25 MB each and 20 files per lesson). Files stay private and are not posted on your public website.
- Link or embed: link to another page or tool. Choose Show inside the lesson to display it in the lesson. The link must start with https://.
- Quiz and Assignment: see those articles.
Every lesson type can also have text that appears with the lesson.
Keep videos private
Educatify plays the video from YouTube or Vimeo. It does not copy the video. An unlisted YouTube link is not private: anyone who has the link can watch it. Students can copy the link and share it.
- On Vimeo, set privacy to Hide from Vimeo and, on a paid plan, allow embedding only on your own website domain.
- On YouTube, use Unlisted rather than Public so the video does not show up in search. The link can still be shared.
Preview and remove
Select Preview as student to walk through the program the way a student will, including lessons that are still locked for students. Only your staff can open this preview.
Deleting a lesson removes its uploaded files. Deleting a module removes all of its lessons and their files. This cannot be undone.
