Your members look after their own directory listings from their account on your website. This article walks through what they see, so you can help them when they ask.
Signing in
- A member joins through your membership sign-up page and pays for a plan that includes Business Directory listings.
- They sign in with their email and password on your website's sign-in page. After signing in they land on My Listings (at /account/bd on your website).
If a member is not signed in and opens My Listings, they are taken to the sign-in page and brought back afterwards.
The My Listings page
| Section | What the member sees |
|---|---|
| Plan usage | How many listings their plan includes and how many they have used, as a bar. When they still have room it says how many more they can add. At the limit, it shows an Upgrade your plan button. |
| Add listing | Opens a form for business name, city, short and full description, phone, email, website, address, province, categories and tags. Switched off when they are at their limit. |
| Their listings | One row per business, with a coloured status. |
Listing statuses
| Status | Meaning for the member |
|---|---|
| Pending review (yellow) | Waiting for you to approve it. The member sees a note that it appears once approved. |
| Published (green) | Live in the directory. A View button opens the public listing page. |
| Rejected (red) | You turned it down. The member sees your reason and a prompt to update and resubmit. |
| Suspended (red) | You took it out of the directory. The member sees your reason. |
| Archived (grey) | The member removed it. It no longer counts toward their limit. |
What members can do
- Add a listing (within their plan's limit).
- Edit any of their listings. Saving a change to a published listing sends it back for review unless their tier publishes automatically.
- Archive a listing they no longer want in the directory.
Members only ever see and change their own listings.
Where you come in
- New and changed listings arrive in Business Directory → Moderation and you are emailed.
- The reason you type when rejecting or suspending is exactly what the member reads.
- If a member needs more listings than their plan allows, grant a slot in Entitlements or Overrides, or point them to a bigger plan.
