Every chauffeur gets a personal link to their own trip list. It opens in the phone's browser, so there's nothing to install. When the chauffeur sets off, the passenger gets a text with a live map of the car coming to them.
Give a chauffeur their link
- Open Limo Man → Application Setup → Drivers and open the chauffeur. Their phone number must be filled in.
- After the first save, the page shows the Driver app link. You can send it to them yourself. They also get it in the text message each time you dispatch a trip to them.
- If a phone is lost or the link was shared by mistake, click Regenerate link. The old link stops working straight away.
What the chauffeur does
The link lists the chauffeur's upcoming trips. For each trip they tap through the steps:
Assigned → Accepted → En Route → On Location → Passenger on Board → Dropped Off → Completed
- Accept or Decline the trip. If they decline, assign another chauffeur and dispatch again.
- En Route starts live tracking and texts the passenger the tracking link.
- On Location texts the passenger that the car has arrived.
You can see the current step as the Trip status on the reservation. It's separate from the booking status (Paid, Confirmed and so on).
What the passenger sees
The tracking page shows the chauffeur's first name, the vehicle and its plate, the trip status, and the car's position on a map. When the trip is completed, the page shows a short "completed" message and then closes. The link doesn't work for cancelled trips.
Passengers with an account on your website also get a Track my chauffeur button on the trip in their account while the car is on the way.
Good to know
- The phone only sends its position while the driver page is open on screen. If the chauffeur locks the phone or switches apps, the map pauses until they come back to the page. Ask chauffeurs to keep the page open while driving to a pickup.
