How to Get Square API Credentials

General Connecting Your Application

Create a Square Developer application and copy Application ID, access token, and Location ID for sandbox and production.

Use this guide to find the Square credentials needed by the Square payment gateway integration at /apis/Square.

  1. Open the Square Developer Dashboard

Go to the Square Developer Console and sign in with the Square account that owns the business location.

  2. Create or open an application

Click Create app (or open an existing app). Each Net3000 merchant should use an application in their own Square developer account — not a shared Net3000-owned app.

  3. Copy the Application ID

On the application Credentials page, copy the Application ID. Sandbox IDs start with sandbox-sq0idb-; production IDs start with sq0idp-.

  4. Create and copy an access token

Under Production or Sandbox, create an access token with payments permissions and copy it immediately. Store it securely — Square may not show it again.

  5. Find the Location ID

Open Locations in the Developer Console or Square Dashboard and copy the Location ID for the store that should receive online payments. Sandbox and production locations have different IDs.

  6. Paste into Net3000

In admin, go to Integrations → Square (/apis/Square). Enter live and/or test credentials on the matching tabs, choose currency, then save. Mark Primary only after a valid access token is stored.
