Write, schedule and track standalone social posts

Simply CMS Simply CMS Help

Use Social Posts to write a Facebook or LinkedIn post that isn't tied to a page. Post it now or schedule it, then open its engagement stats.

Social Posts is for posts that don't belong to a page on your site, such as an announcement, a holiday greeting or a quick promotion.

Connect your accounts first

Open Social Posts from the Simply CMS menu. If no Facebook Page or LinkedIn account is connected yet, a note at the top links to Settings → Social Media. Connect at least one account there before posting.

Create a post

  1. Click Create a Post.
  2. Enter a Title so you can find the post in your list.
  3. Write the Post text.
  4. Optionally upload an image.
  5. Save. Your draft stays in the list until you post it.

Post now or schedule

  1. Open the draft and choose the networks: Facebook and/or LinkedIn.
  2. Choose Post now, or Schedule with a date and time in your account's time zone.
  3. Confirm.

Scheduled posts appear in the list below with their status: Scheduled, Posted, Failed or Cancelled. You can cancel a scheduled post before it goes out. If you edit the draft before the scheduled time, the latest text and image are posted.

If a scheduled post fails, for example because a connection expired, it shows Failed with the reason and you get a notification.

See how a post is doing

After a post is published, click the Stats button on its row in the Social Posts list. You'll see the post's engagement, such as reactions, comments and shares, refreshed from the network when you open it.
